Founder/Artist/Engineer
Nexus Soundworx founder Greg Lentz brings more than four decades of experience in music—as a vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, arranger, live performer, producer, and audio engineer. Long before working behind the console, Greg spent years onstage as the frontman for original bands, writing and arranging music, collaborating with other musicians, and working in traditional recording studios.
That experience provides a perspective that extends beyond the technical side of audio engineering. Decisions about instrumentation, tone, balance, dynamics, arrangement, space, and processing are evaluated not only as engineering choices, but through the ears of a musician, songwriter, arranger, performer, and producer.
Over time, those disciplines converged into the approach behind Nexus Soundworx: combining musical instinct, critical listening, technical expertise, and production judgment in service of the song and the artist's creative vision.
Greg's admittedly obsessive attention to detail reflects a simple philosophy:
“There are no templates in music. Every artist, every song, and every performance has its own identity. My job is to understand what the artist is trying to communicate and use every tool and skill I have to help that emotion reach the listener. That's what I mean by ‘Engineered Emotion.’
